Traci Lords might get a part on BSG but never J-Lo. I think Adama would activate Galactica's self destruct before letting J-Lo run things her way on his ship even as a Cylon or a Vice Admiral! She is a DIVA now but they do go way back to "Selena" so off camera might be bloopers of butt jokes on the sci-fi channel website. Second Season Finale was cool and I won't spoil it for those who have yet to see it. It's 90 minutes by the way and has hologram Al from Quantum Leap, Dean Stockwell!

michael, the question is could any costume stretch to fit j-lo's backside? there's also the fact that a battlestar is only so big. i don't think one could hold both j-lo's ego and her backside at the same time. besides, if ron moore did bring the athena character back it would probably be as a man just to drive the fans of the original series nuts. take care.

Athena was a classy babe. I see J-Lo in more the prostitute role (see Cassieopeia). That way she wouldn't really have to stretch her acting abilities.

as soon as any actress starts speaking ron moore's lines she will instantly become unbelievably boring. even jenna jameson doing what she does best would be boring on this show. take care.

Jennifer Lopez can't act! She's the hispanic version of jennifer Aniston. They get upstaged by almost everyone else in the movie. Lopez, Aniston there's just too much hype there; you need to find an actress that's believeable.

hollywood is bent on remakes because they don't have the talent pool they used to. there are no more howard hawkes, billy wilders or aflred hitchcocks to come up with new ideas so they just continue to remake movies that didn't need to be remade and turn old tv shows into new movies. just add a little sex and a lot of violence and dirty jokes and you've got a hit. another thing that makes me especially mad is how any actor over forty is automatically a has been. personally, i'm tired of shows and movies with only teens and twenty-somethings in the casts. that's why we were denied a continuation of the real galactica, because bonnie hammer said the original cast was too old and no one would want to watch them. it's time hollywood put the kiddies to bed and let the grownups act. take care.

The only similairity of the ol dand new are some of the names and the ship s ..and thats about it..Other than that this is a new RON MOPRE PRODUCTION. soo face it we old Galactica fans have to face the fact that Hollywood is bent on remaking shows and movies in their own twisted view ..i refuse to watch the show anymore .enuff said .

i'm a PROUD fan of the original and only battlestar galactica. let's hear it for morality and great story telling, minus all the rape, sodomy, backstabbing and gritty realisim. take care.

Sure there are enough people watching to make GINO successful on Sci-Fi. But then enough people buy Britney Spears and N'SYNCH albums to make them successful. But have you seen ANYONE ever actually praise them for their contribution to music?
Nowhere has it ever been stated that "Successful" is synonymous with "Good". It simply means there are enough of the shallow, lowest common denominator who are willing to watch it.

Even though the new Battlestar Galactica may have a lot of fans, this show is clearly not what fans of the original series who fought so hard and so long had in mind. But since Ron Moore has remained indifferent to the cries of pain emanating from tortured souls of TOS and has heaved this abomination upon us, he may as well butcher a few more sci-fi classics, since he "has changed science fiction forever." Rand already commented on what a Ron Moore-produced Star Trek might look like, so why not a Ron Moore "re-imagined" Lost In Space? Since there is no extraterrestial life in Ron Moore's universe, the Jupiter II does not need to travel to Alpha Centauri. Instead, it gets lost between Mars and the asteroid belt. The robot is now a female, Will Robinson and his father hate each other and argue constantly, Mrs. Robinson is a cancer-stricken religious nut, Penny is a lesbian, Major West is an alcoholic who tries to rape Will's oldest sister, and Doctor Smith is a brilliant scientist who constantly imagines that a beautiful lesbian is talking to him. By the way, the Jupiter II's weaponry consists of slingshots and arrows.

It's a big success for the Scifi channel so I guess someone is watching it and I did hear that the original series is on DVD so you can go buy the DVD and watch it over and over and over and over and over and over and over etc.

There is no Athena on this Battlestar so I guess you're just out of luck. The problem alot of the fans of the old show are having is the fact that the new show isn't exactly like the old show.

All the doorways on the Galactica's bridge would have to be widened to accomodate Jennifer's behind. Perhaps P. Diddy could be brought in to play Omega. (A drive-by Cylon shooting? Blame it on the Galactica's driver!) While we're at it, maybe Eva Longoria could play the new Sheba, and she could have an affair with a 17-year-old gardener on one of the Agro Ships. Terrell Owens could be drafted to play Triad for the Colonials, and Nicolette Sheridan could cheer him on while wearing only a towel.

Not to mention you'd have to shoot her scenes so far away just to get all her 'assets' in the frame.

i don't think even a battlestar is big enough to accomodate ms. lopez's most prized possession. there would also be a danger that any planets they passed might go in orbit around it

You would have to film it in wide screen to get all of her ass in the picture.
