We all know now that Anakin will eventually turn into Darth Vader. But was it inevitable? I mean, he grew up a slave, raised by a busy single parent who couldn't give him all the attention he needed, and he had no father figure, unless you count Watto. Do you think if Anakin had a father he might have turned out better? Or maybe if Tattooine had a strong social services division, he might have gotten the guidance he needed before he turned to evil?
