Isn't it kind of curious that R2-D2 and C-3PO never mentioned to Luke that they knew his Dad? I mean, when they heard Luke's last name, didn't they stop and think that they also knew someone by that name, on Tattooine? How come they never mentioned it to Luke? And, come to think of it, if Luke was supposed to be hidden from his Dad, what kind of disguise was it to hide on Tattooine, where his Dad grew up... using his real last name? To answer your second question, Anakin never knew if Luke and Leia were actually born or if they died with Padmé.
