When the troopers learned that the reactor was about to blow, they were told it would destroy everything within 30 kilometers, about 15 miles, in four hours. Couldn't they have gotten much farther than that by driving the APC for four hours, even if it were damaged? The axle was blown, however could they not have sent more troops :=0        posts on 6/21/2006 9:35:48 PM Because, as someone else mentioned, the drop ship crashed into the APC destroying it. Even then, the APC probably couldnt move at all after Ripley drove it too hard and wrecked the transaxle. They did salvage a few weapons and flame throwers from the wreckage. The extended directors cut has the cool automatic sentry guns that killed dozens of aliens. More to the point is why send a warship with just 1 unit of Marines leaving the warship unmanned? Why not send at least 2 ships with several units of Marines as backups?
