i think adric was the most annoying
just cos he was a genius did not mean that he could out think the doctor.
900 years is a lot of experiance and knowledge. and knowledge is power

I am so sick of Rose! I mean, she was okay at the time, but the doctor is constantly referring to her and I just want everyone to get over her! The doctor has had his companions meet stickier ends than that, and it's so stupid the way they've changed it so that the doctor worries about her all the time. Move it on already! Oh, then there was the chic with the big fluffy hair. Something starting with M maybe? I dunno, she was that annoying that I've tried to forget her, but she seemed more suited to an exercise show than Dr Who! Aside from that, I've liked all the other ones!

If you could keep Tegan's mouth shut for five minutes i'd give here a serve!

Tegan. Tegan. And Tegan. My God, was she annoying as all hell. I'm generally a very easygoing person, but I've always wnated to club her to death like a baby seal. One of my friends had a crush on her. What a retard.

K9 without doubt was over used and was particularly annoying, Tegan drove me bonkers and Leela was useless.

Tegan was by far the most irritating of the companions. Poor acting, and just plain irritating and obnoxious. The writers obviously did not like her either.
On the other hand, I see that a lot of British fans seem to hate Adric, who is a lot more popular here in the States and in Europe, probably because homosexuality is much more accepted there. I, too, liked Adric, and thought that the gay relationship between him and the fourth doctor was tastefully handled, and actually made the series more intellectually stimulating. I get the impression that British boys are insecure feel threatened by Adric's sexuality. In my opinion, he was the most real of the companions, and the only one who had a realistic emotional relationship with the Doctor. I honestly thought that the fourth Doctor and Adric were somehow going to merge to form the fifth Doctor, and was disappointed that they didn't.

I think that Rose wins this category hands down, sure she is fit but I found her dull. At least they killed off Adric, so that is why he does not win

Nyssa(A plank of wood.Often mistaken for the tardises hatstand),Adric(An annoying little tit);Tegan(Wisely once described as a "mouth on legs"),Ben(God!that accent);Melanie(What were they thinking!),and Ace(please,
Doctor Who,don't try and be that clever again)

Everyone seems to have forgotten Harry Sullivan. Not that he was a bad fellow or particularly grating, but he just didn't belong there; he was annoying in that he was annoyingly clueless.

If one can count anyone who travels with the Doctor as a companion, then Adrik is the hands down winner. I cheered his heroic demise...and yes I am counting the dog.

I really enjoyed the episodes with Peri, even if I was a pre hormonal 10 year old at the time with a liking for big knockers - please don't diss her! Adrick put me off Dr Who for years and years - he was not female and he wanted to be as clever as the Dr! We live in such better times now, dont we!

I thought (and Philip Hinchcliffe agrees with me) that Harry Sullivan was entirely superfluous. He was written in before Tom Baker was chosen to replace Jon Pertwee, so the writers were expecting another older Doctor. Although he had some good lines, and Ian Marter was a fine actor, he was usually unhelpful to the story. Kamelion also proved useless, although this was as much a problem of having a robot as your companion in the 1980's as problemous writing or character development. I must admit I usually preferred male companions. Ian was ready to pick a fight with the first Doctor, Turlough was brilliantly mysterious (and sometimes villainous) and the Brigadier was the perfect companion, loyal, brave, but often a bit on the stupid side.

Dont get me started on Adirc, i hate to slag off actors but teen's never to well in sci-fi's, you have to love Billie Piper's Rose she's wounderful. as Was K-9 and Sarah Jane smith and Ace. But i Like Tegan she was different compared to the rest.

Jo Grant. Scream. Scream. Scream some more. But, luv'd her hippy faishons.
Sarah Jane. Boring, run of the mill character. Not fun to watch.
Susan. Whiny teenager. You're a Time Lady. Buck up and show some strength.

Im sure the good doctor would tell Tegan to get down on her knees and service him - off camera of course. Then he would tell her not to talk with her mouth full.
The doctor was pretty darn horny spending all that time alone in a police call box.

Adric was the worse companion. He was brought into replace the second Romana and K9 but the only lastet seven adventures. Not even one series and he didnt deserve the hero's death at the end of Earthshock

I can't even remember Bonnie Langford, just cos I couldn't watch with her in it.
She is the most annoying!
I think Ace even helped that troubled period a little.
Billie Piper does suprisingly well.
& is it not a case of the Doctors assistants are actor proof? cos they're supposed to be human and have flaws!
