Without a doubt, the best science fiction show ever! No incessant technobabble, no pompous "Star Fleet" posturing, and aliens, sets, and overall acting that were\was wonderfully cheesy. Isn't that the point of this show? When I think about the brooding, serious nature of the first season, I think it's a good space drama and riveting science fiction, with great special effects, and that charming "campy" feel that so many old shows like Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits had as well.
Enter the second season... Well- the seriousness was left to John and Don, always berating Smith, and the background acting was left to the women, leaving Will, Smith and B-9 to rule the show, which they did with admirable dispatch. Even when the episodes were ridiculous (The Android Machine, Girl from the Green Dimension, etc.) they were fun to watch.
My personal favorites are Treasure of the Lost Planet, The Ghost Planet, and The Cave of the Wizards- these episodes bear what LiS is truly about- good story, interesting characers and monsters, and creepy sets and music.
Here's your new prime directive- Watch Lost in Space! (And ignore that woeful movie from a few years back)

What ever happened to Dee Hartford and Alberto Monte from the "Android Machine and Castles in space" episodes. I can't find anything on them on the internet. Does anybody know where they are now?
Thanks.

Didn't mean to overlook worst episode"S" Worst was "Curse of Cousin Smith." and the one where Will and Dr Smith land the Pod on a planet in the future. Question, In the latter episode, excuse the judy reference, another Good looking Judy episode. How is it that Dr Smith Has two reletives show up in different episodes and wasn't a part of the crew to begin with.

I admit, I was a bit puzzled about this one for years. I read somewhere that the full-size exterior mockup of the J2 was only used in 2 episodes ('The Derelict' and 'Visit to a Hostile Planet'). After carefully reviewing early episodes, I find this is not true.
In the 3rd episode, Island in the Sky, the robot leaves the ship to do an atmospheric survey of the new world the Robinsons crash landed on. The robot is seen leaving the open outer hatch and proceeds down an earthen ramp conveniently located there. You can clearly see the top of the saucer, including the plexiglas bubble. More on this in a second.
It is well known that when production of the series got underway, the outer shell of the main deck set was modified to make the ship look bigger and the top of the saucer was removed to allow permanent rigging for lighting the set interior, thus making it undesirable to film without adding matte effects. You can tell they did this in the episode 'The Raft' when you see the balloon ready to take off and the J2 in the foreground.
The only logical way this shot could have been achieved was to take the full size mockup, remove the landing legs and likely the engine core (the engine core turned up in almost every other LIS episode on its own as part of various and sundry sets and alien ships!) then once on a sound stage, the lower half of the mockup was covered with dirt and...voila!
The mockup was also used often in first season night scenes where the bubble is seen glowing on and off. Anyway, I maybe the only person who ever thought about silly details like this, but I thought I'd share them just the same.
Thanks for reading!

Has any Channel or will any channel ever air our favorite CULT Classic again? I have been looking for years and have yet to find a channel air it ever since SCI-FI stopped about 8 years ago.

The Keeper parts 1 & 2 are among my favorites. As well as the first episodes some mentiond. But the second part of season 2 is looking horrible. Horrible characters & little to no suspense. But still one of my all time fav shows.
