TV-Commentary - X-Files
How lame was the last episode?
In the last episode of the X-Files, we see Mulder running in a cave for ten minutes, yet another of the many, many alien/government installations he's run across. Then most of the rest of the two hours are a mixture of talk talk and old clips. At the end, the only remarkable thing that happens is that Mulder does it with Scully.

There is no resolution about the government conspiracy; there is no resolution about the alien invasion; there is no resolution about anything. A kid that can read minds and bust the whole thing wide open is trotted out, mumbles something, and disappears again.

The situation at the end of the last episode, after nine years of finding alien caves, testing labs, and kidnappings, is the EXACT SAME as the very first--there's still a shadowy alien government conspiracy. Can anyone with a brain who watched this not feel cheated?

As much as I liked this series, the ending was about as lame as seasons 5-7 so i wasn't surprised. As far as "Mulder's and Scully's closnet", I didn't care. I was glad ot see they didn't give in to fan pressure to make them lovers. The "issues" they failed to recocile disappointed me.

I have to admit, the last episode did leave me feeling a bit cheated. But I do beleive it was because Chris Carter was not sure if that was indeed going to be the "last" episode. I think that it could have been much better. There were too many unresolved story lines, especially the issues between Mulder & Scully and Dogget and Reyes. I was expecting to be a little more of their budding closeness, but nothing! Oh well, too bad we now have to wait for the new X-Files movir to come out, when ever that is.

If they solved all the puzzle, there would be no possibilities of movies made after the series was over. And about movies, has anyone heard of any such possibility?

The commentator posts on 9/6/2006 11:27:57 PM

I think that Mulder and Scully are really alien hybrids sent to Earth to observe humans and report back to Spock (Mulder and Scully's son in the future).

Do you think the only people who thought the last episode was "exellant" also spelled it that way?

The commentator posts on 5/7/2006 9:50:54 AM

your talking a load of rubish, the x files have always been exellant

Ok so did they go into the future somehow, I missed that episode. The Cigerette smoking man says that was it at the year 2011 the final alien invasion takes place. Was that the same time when Mulder had that thing in his brain and he was like super smart or something, was that when Mulder saw it too?

Yes, it seemed like they did not know quite how to end the series. Sad, really.

X-Files was wonderful, beginning to end. And as for the ending not really ending anything, that's how every episode was! Some questions were answered, but you were also supposed to draw your own conclusions.

Whoever said that the last episode was bad is wrong. First of all, it helped clear up any questions we might have had in the past. Second, cancer man dies, after impeding the agents investigations for years. Noal Rohr is killed (finally). You said there's still a conspiracy. Of course there is, and there always will be. No matter how hard the agents try, there is no way that on their own they can completely destroy the conspiracy. And the syndicate is dead, remember? the conspiracy was dealt a major blow by that. The conspiracy, albeit weak, will remain.

This is it. i have seen the last episode today of the X-files. Ok can someone explain me what happen in what i have just saw. For nine years i have listen to this fenomenal production. 9 Years of mistery to know if i will reveal the truth. And then the final episode. First, they dont prove nothing, they don't get kill while doing something heroic, and the bad thing about this FINAL EPISODE IS THAT HE FINISH AS A WANTED PERSON IN A MOTEL WHERE YOU WOULD SEE ONLY BAD REALLY BAD PERSON HIDING FROM THE LAW. I just don't believe what i just saw tonight. I fell really bad right now.

What a lot of people don't realize that there was the whole plot of "can he/they prove it" exsists. And the whole series was mainly about that, and changing minds of people. And at the last episode you see that the truth will come out, just not then. As Mulder talking about if there are enough liars they can keep the truth at bay, but no lie lives forever.

That is my message !!, to be continued. If all about this is mathematical and scientifically possible, please continue letting us to figure it out through every episode. Come on !!!, come back !!! To be continue !!! cheers

I guess I'm a nut, but I can't stand change. Why are there new people? Why did mulder go away? He was so hot! And then they eventually routed Scully over too. What up with agent Doggit's ears???? Eeewww...

Hello, I'm probably a little late on this subject but, I agree that it is a big set up for the 2nd movie. Which I believe will be about the invasion. The date is set, which is the Mayan calender date for destrucion. I wasn't to sure about bringing T2000 to the cast but all in all I thought they pulled it off with excellent grace.
