If Gandalf had a girlfriend, would've it have been Galadriel?
Let's face it, Gandalf didn't get any romance in the trilogy. And how could he? There was no one on his level to date. He certainly couldn't date an ordinary human or even a run of the mill elf--he was so wise and knowing, that there would've been too much of a gap between them. He was also so old that there would be too much of an age gap.
But Galadriel was as old (or older) than Gandalf, and she is as smart and wise as he is too. They have a lot in common they can talk about--the ring, the fight against Sauron, Saruman, the White Council, etc. And Galadriel is reportedly very attractive, so why not?
It's true that Galadriel is technically married to Celeborn, but she doesn't really care about him--in fact, she left Middle Earth without him! Obvious it was a marriage of convenience. In fact, do you think it's possible that Gandalf had an affair with Galadriel? I mean, they could've; Celeborn didn't have a palantir to constantly watch what his wife was doing. Do you think such a thing was possible?

Check out the appendices, the Silmarillion, the Lost Tales, etc. Somewhere, Tolkien has answered most every question you can come up with.

But all gorgeous, powerful women are attracted to scrawny old guys with beards! It's a known fact. Why be interested in having a dashing golden-haired forest elf prince for a husband when you can go out with a bossy, cantankerous guy in a pointy hat? Okay, the hat's cool. I might fall for the hat.

What are you talking about, it was not aloud that the wizards had any lovers. They were a specific kind of race for themselves. Plus, I'm guessing it was forbidden for them to fall in love (not counting that it was probably beyond them). Iluvitar had made them for one perpose only, that was to be a guide for the people of middle earth. As for Galadriel, I doubt that she ever even thought of looking at him that way.

Galadriel didn't have a romance with Elrond. Elrond was married to Galadriel and Celeborn's daughter, making Arwen Galadriel's granddaughter.

Galadriel didn't have a child by Elrond. Her daughter Celebrant did.

Nah. Gandalf is much too serious, and Galadriel has already had a child by Elrond and been married to Celeborn, so maybe she just gave it a rest. And Gilbo, all the normal hobbits thought Gandalf was a seriously weird trouble-maker.
